Obsidian also has historical roots with humanity. In Neolithic times, this was a valued stone used for weaponry. Its sharp, jagged edge when honed served as an ideal material for arrowheads to assist our ancestors in survival. Though we as a species have collectively evolved needing Obsidian for this reason, we have since found alternative significance to utilize this crystal, particularly within the metaphysical realm.
Obsidian in energy work is known to be a highly effective protector stone. It acts as a sealant to one’s auric field, warding off negative influences in the astral plane and world around them. Obsidian is as cleansing from the outside world as it is so within. It is a keen identifier of negative emotions pent up within your own being.
